A tribute to the late Mary Roberts

Mary loved lawn bowling and all the friends she made during her time on the greens.

Even though she engaged in many other activities; such as golf, sailing & dancing, what she enjoyed the most was the competition, challenge & camaraderie of bowling. In fact, she was the one who introduced me to the game.

She was a wonderful wife, lover, partner & friend to me for 63 years. A well loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was really the center of our family life. She always said she was ‘Le follower’.

Maybe she was from the time she met me in the military in Egypt and living in England, Canada and the U.S.A. She actually made quite a point of it on our 60th anniversary, but I have great doubts about that being true. She was just Mary.

I'm so pleased to sponsor this event and hope I can do so for many years to come.

Tournament Results:

Bill Stevenson and Maureen Ferguson won the trophy. Ralph Ross and Norma Kearns were runners-up.
Burl and Barbara Roller came third after having to play three extra ends in their final match against Ross Weir and Anita Gray.
